On the 17th of january 08, c. sinz and my self have made a census of large gulls on the 45 km of the swiss side of the bodensee. we counted 60 caspians, 47 ylg and 7 herring gulls. the number of caspians is a record for our country. we counted also 49 caspians at the austrian rheindelta (very close to the swiss border). some caspian pics of this da

An unexpected 2 cy caspian gull was present this morning on the lake of neuchâtel. the species is very rare at this time of the year in switzerland. more pics here .
