4000 islands

4000 islands

To top our trip off in Laos, we took a bus and a boat to the island of Don Khone, part of the 4 000 islands. We found a nice bungalow on the riverbank of the Mekong. It's the perfect place to relax in your hammock and chill out. We also cycled around to waterfalls, sand beaches and took a boat just before sunset to spot the rare Irrawaddy fresh wat
Kong Lor Cave

Kong Lor Cave

Kong Lor Cave is a 7.5 k's tunnel running beneath an immense limestone mountain. And apparently, one of the biggest spiders in the world lives there. We didn't want to miss that! So we took a local bus blearing Laos tunes for most of the trip and met some other travellers heading to the cave. Spend the evening in the only restaurant of the village,

From Tha Khaek to Pakse

We eventually made our way to our next stop Tha Khaek, struggling through local transport. After a good night sleep in a cool guesthouse, we took the 10:30 am local bus to Pakse. Luang Prabang

Luang Prabang

Luang Prabang is a very nice and chilled out little city. We stayed there for a few days, time for Camille to recover. However we enjoyed walks along the Mekong, the nightmarket and the relaxed atmospere of the city. We were slightly disappointed by the Laos cuisine, which is not as exciting as Thai food. But Laos people seemed to be really friendl
Vang Vieng & Vientiane

Vang Vieng & Vientiane

We took a minibus to Vang Vieng, wich is situated 170 k's south of Luang Prabang. Yet still takes 6 hours to get there. The roads condition was poor and windy as shit. After this nightmare of a journey, we walked around the town in the hard sun to find cheap accomodation. Came across Pan's Place, just outside the town center and stayed there. Vang
